This time capsule was placed November 9th, 2006 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center. The HSC is the area of the University of Florida's campus devoted to health-related fields, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and dentistry. This time capsule was placed by the University.
Another time capsule was placed to commemorate the original opening of the HSC in 1956, and this original capsule has been included in the current piece; items representing life in 2006 were also included. The capsule will be opened in the HSC's 100th anniversary year, 2056.
