In the fall of 2007, the existing McDonald's that was here was completely demolished. It wasn't anything special, just your typical McDonald's. But within 90 days, a new prototype store opened up in the same spot.
Most people would consider this location being in downtown, but I would say it's more on the lower west side. Nevertheless, it is the closest to the downtown business core.
