The style of the church is mainly Romanesque with lancet windows suggesting the early English,so church can be thought to be based on the period of 1190-1200.
In 1879 Flookburgh became a parish, and it was decided to build a church, the architects were Austen and Paley.
At the W.end of the church is a massive tower with shallow buttresses and a saddleback roof,at the E.end it is apsidal and incorporates an undercroft.
