This reservation includes parts of the cities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Rancho Mirage. Because of the checkerboard pattern, there are "entrance signs" everywhere. This one is on Hwy 111 north of Palm Springs.

The reservation occupies 32,000 acres, of which 6,700 acres lie within Palm Springs city limits, making the Agua Caliente band the city's largest landowner. In Cathedral City, the band owns 28% of the land. The reservation land was originally composed of alternating squares of land laid out across the desert in a checkerboard pattern.
The band operates two casinos, the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs and the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage.
