The "new" City Hall is located in a building that was once used as a downtown office by CNB National Bank before it merged with South Carolina-based Mercantile
(visit link for details). Prior to it housing the bank, it was the old Hotel Powell. City Hall is located in the Lake City Historic Commercial District, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
