The Trampled Track Trail is a short 0.1-mile barrier-free historic trail located at Olustee Beach in the Osceola National Forest. The trail shows the history of a sawmill and the community that thrived along the shores of Ocean Pond at the turn of the 20th century.
There are signs along the trail describing the historic sawmill activities in the area. The final sign at the Ocean Pond overlook reads "Imagine hundreds of logs floating in front of you and the distant whine of saws. This was the scene here in the late 1890's and early 1900's. The steam locomotive would haul the logs over the lake on raised tracks and then dump the logs into a holding area. To protect the wood from insects and decay, logs were stored in the water until they could be cut into lumber.
There are restrooms and picnic tables at the entrance to The Trampled Track Trail. There are benches at the overlook and along the trail to it.
