This is another of one of the many Historical stops we made on our trek into Kansas.
I was mainly in search of the Underground Railroad site here.
This was also where the First Civil War battle in Kansas was faught.
The famous Jayhawkers originated from this area.
I have been trying to contact one of the curators,Town Historian on some more facts and details of the area.
She is the head of the Geneology committee.
I will add more as I get the updates and more of the great history of the area.
We are also headed back up that way real soon so I will get some other great Waymarks of the area.
I also talked to the Librarian and got her interested in Waymarking.
Maybe we will get a new Waymarker for Kansas soon.
As always have fun be safe and
