This railway operates in the corner of this popular public park, running from a station adjacent to the main car park and watersports centre. Trains cross over 3 level crossings, under a main road and pass an aerial ropes course en route. Originally opened in 1989, it was first operated by a scale model of “Britannia”, followed by a large narrow gauge steam locomotive “Judy” and then a 2-6-4T Tinkerbell “Ladybird”. Two diesel locomotives now operate the passenger trains, the newer of which has an Intercity outline. The railway was shortened in the winter of 2005/06 to accommodate the aerial ropes course. The railway is 600 yards long and is open most weekends of the year dependent on the weather conditions.
