The San Marco Theatre was originally built in 1938 by nationally recognized architect Roy Benjamin. The Art Deco styling was selected to keep up with the architectural trends of the times. Today, the theatre sits in the San Marco section of Jacksonville, an upscale shopping and dining district near downtown.
The theatre shows first run movies on its single screen nightly, with occasional special showings after the main movie on select nights. Tables are located between every couple of seats. The menu includes sandwiches, pizzas, hot dogs, quesadillas, and nachos, along with beer and wine. For those who can't break from the usual movie food, there is also popcorn, candy, and sodas.
