Pico Verde is my absolute favorite spot on Tenerife. Just sitting here, eating lunch, looking at the world - that's what life is all about.

Pico Verde
Pico Verde isn't that tall - 1320m - but from the top you have a magnificent view over
Masca/Masca valley, Teno Mountains, Teide, Pico Viejo, La Gomera and the Atlantic Ocean. You
are sitting on top of the world - looking at the most beautiful parts of
Tenerife. The air is clean and the sky blue - if you have chosen the right day.
Visit this spot as soon as possible, because from 12 o'clock clouds often
starts to cover the top. And if you are on the top before 10 o'clock, it's
likely that you can have it for yourself. Just - for the time being - all the
trees in the area are strugling to get green due to fact, that the area was
ragaved by fire summer 2007.
Starting point and the climb
If you prefer a cold beer after the walk, you can park your car at Restaurante
Fleytas or go by bus to this place. But you can also park your car on a little
parkingarea: N 28º 18.815 W 016º
48.383. From the parkingarea you have a nice walk involving some exercise and a bit
bouldering at the end to the top of Pico Verde aka Kleinder Gala. The top is
surrounded by sheer drops, so you have to be surefooted and have the head for
hights. Time: Around 1
hour to the top. You can walk to the top of Mña Jala with the fire-watch tower,
but even if it's higer, the view isn't as good as from Pico Verde.
