In March 1989, the National Ballet of Cuba inaugurated the Auditório Simón Bolívar. Since then many other people have been inside the auditorium, including the philharmonic orchestra of Israel, Mercedes Sosa, Astor Piazzolla, Tom Jobim, Hermeto Paschoal, and Libertad Lamarque.
The building has a capacity of 1600 people, and has hosted such world leaders as Bill Clinton, Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.
The building is named after the Venezeulan leader of independence. Bolivar was also the president of Vezeluela, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia.
