The Sheridan Drive-In was opened in 1951 by the Cohen family, who are the current owners of the
Transit Drive-In in nearby Lockport. When built, the road the drive-in was located on (Ensminger Rd) continued on to Grand Island Blvd. However when the I-190 and I-290 were built, Ensminger Rd was turned into a dead end. Presubamly the lack of traffic caused the drive-in to close in 1982. The drive-in had two screens and a snack bar.
Currently, the site is home to several buildings in an office park. There are no visible remains of the drive-in anywhere. However, the outline can be seen on old
USGS topo maps.
