As owner of the Waymark, I request if you suggest any addition, edit or removal of text to please notify me first. I consider it an honor to have posted this Waymark in honor of veterans, which I am also. But consider it an insult to veterans and myself to include multiple spelling typos.
Top notch Veterans Memorial, is a very pleasant surprise in this beautiful small southern town.
The following is quoted from a leaflet from this location:
The West Chatham Veterans Memorial is located at Siler City's Bray Park on South 2nd Avenue in Siler City. All veterans are eligible to be listed on the memorial. The memorial was established for and by veterans. This is a veterans' grass root effort to honor all veterans in Chatham County. Siler City graciously provided a perpetual site for the monument. The memorial depicts each branch of the military service along with the Great Seal of the United States. The layout of the memorial is by name, branch of service, war or conflict era.
The memorial will hold in excess of 800 names under it's present arrangement. It was designed to expand in years to come. Today the memorial reflects 612 names. ( end quotes )
This is one of the very best Veterans Memorials that I have ever seen. Congrats to those who made it happen.

Description of Memorial:
I saw a basic sign "Veterans Memorial" when driving into town and followed the signs. It looks very majestic sitting on top of a hill. Well taken care of, very clean, and has signs requesting no bikes, skate boards etc.. Also requests quiet please. Like I said it is Top Notch.
