Inside the purpose built base are 4 four wheel drive vehicles, all kitted out with paramedic and rescue equipment, one as an ambulance. Land-rovers are used. Team members are trained in paramedic procedures as well as remote evacuation. LAMRT are the busiest Lake District rescue team, and are all volunteers who train weekly.
Our domestic ambulance service only goes as far as the tarmac extends. When the tarmac runs out, the MRT take over. They are an extension of the ambulance service.
