The Flag of Rock Hill was developed in December 1992, with a great deal of focus spent on the philosophy behind the design. Each arrow
represents the six themes on which city’s future was built:

Business
Education
Historic Preservation
Gardens & Environment
Arts & Culture
Transportation & Utilities

The six arrows work toward a central focus and draw strength from their common direction and purpose. Each arrow, or theme, is strong in its own right, but gathers more strength by meeting the others and moving together toward a common goal, depicted by the middle star. The motion of the arrows symbolizes Rock Hill’s progressive nature.
