Ever since they "discovered" America in 1000 AD, the vikings have been around. Actually, Gimli has the largest population of Icelandic people outside of Iceland!
Located outdoors along the shores of Lake Winnipeg, he is always there, watching over the townfolks.
He was built in 1967 by the local Chamber of Commerce, to commemorate the centennial of Gimli.
Sorry, I could not find a link to him!
