The Paul Bunyan muffler man is in front of the parking lot for the Stagecoach Stop USA, in the heart of the Irish Hills on U.S. 12 in southern Michigan.
As for Stagecoach Stop USA itself, it's a great roadside attraction. Children will enjoy the "train ride" (actually a farm tractor [actually an old traction engine, so really not that much of a stretch] made to look like a train, pulling several open wagons) during which the engineer gets into a mock gunfight with a bandit.
Adults may be more interested in the numerous antiques scattered throughout the various buildings.
The Irish Hills area is absolutely beautifull. Route 12 (the original road to Chicago from Detroit) has a great many roadside attraction to delight the family.
