Lily Blue died of cancer in the Franklin County Home on September 25, 1928. She had no known relatives. The Miller and Morrison families in eastern Franklin County had just opened a cemetery. They, along with Rutherford Funeral Home, donated their services and provided Lily with a proper burial on December 15, 1928. (The delay in her burial was due to the county waiting to see if anyone claimed the body.)
The photo is of her tombstone which notes that she was the first burial. "Forest Lawn Memorial Park" was the original name of the cemetery. Several years ago, it changed its name to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
