The following text is from "Washington: a Guide to the Evergreen State":
at 2.7 m., an imposing MASONIC HOME, built at a cost of $800,000, overlooks Puget Sound. The main structure and several small frame buildings stand on formally landscaped grounds within a semicircle of second growth forest.
The building is now managed for the Masonics by the Landmark Corporation and is called Landmark on the Sound. Originally the Masonic Home was created in 1912 in the city of Puyallup. In 1926 this structure was built to enlarge the capacity of the home.
The home still has the formal gardens in front of the building and a commanding view of the Puget Sound.
