Long Description:This is Dawg's favorite beach because dogs are allowed 24/7/365.
There are poop bags at every entrance to the beach and a trash can
in which to deposit the poop-filled bags.
It is not clear where Juno Beach ends and Jupiter Beach begins.
For the purposes of this waymark, Jupiter Beach begins at the
posted coordinates and extends north about 2.5 miles past Carlin
Park and ends at the first tower of condos.
There are no life guards on this beach. The portion of beach to
the south of the posted coordinates has life guards up to the Juno
Pier.
The only public restrooms for this beach are at Ocean Cay and
Carlin Parks. There are no concessions along the beach. There is a
snack shack at the Juno Pier. There are grocery stores, gas
stations restaurants etc. within .25 miles of the southern end of
this beach, and .75 miles at the north end of this beach.
Parking can be found at Ocean Cay Park (N 26° 53.780 W 080°
03.557) and at Carlin Park (N 26° 05.777 W 080° 04.205). There is
also parking on both sides of the road that runs parallel to the
beach between these two parks.
Swimmers and waders must be aware that there are often
jellyfish-like organisms that frequent this beach. The Portuguese
Man O' War drift to this beach and can be found in the water and on
the beach. They have long tentacles. The sting from the tentacles
is dangerous to humans. These stings usually cause excruciating
pain, and have even been the cause of several deaths.
(Wikipedia.com) See the gallery for a picture of one of these
fascinating creatures.
Entrance #10 is where the kite-boarders hang out. On windy days
there are always a bunch of kite-boarders on the beach and flying
across the water.
On days where there are waves, there are usually surf-boarders
out riding the waves. There is no designated section for surfing
but often the surf-boarders hang out in the same general area.
Fishing is allowed anywhere on this beach. There is almost
always at least a few fisher-people fishing just before sunset.
On many occasions we have seen people with metal detectors.
Finally, there are always people just hanging out on the beach.
People sunbathe, read books, build sand castles, have picnics
etc.
There are no fees for this beach and it is open 24/7. However,
sleeping on the beach at night is not permitted.
