Challenging access to the Cuivre River from the state park. Enter the state park drive past the Park Office on your left. Go left on Frenchman Bluff Road. Follow it to state road 655. The bridge to the left is out, go to the right look for an open parking area. There is a couple places to carry or drag your boat down to the river. I had to drag mine since I was a alone. I haven't found too many public access points to the Cuivre River. This isn't easy access but is worth the work as you can paddle a fair distance either direction.
Parking/put-in/launching information:
See directions above. You will have to work a little bit to get on the water. I saw a guy take an aluminum boat in from here so I knew my Kayak was doable.

Paddling conditions to be expected:
Flat water not too much current unless heavy rains.

Difficulty of the trip:
The paddling part isn't to difficult.

Length of trip: 3 hours

Portages:
There are shallow areas you could carry the boat past and get further down stream where it opens up again.

Permits required:
No permits required. There is an Equestrian camping area very near by and campgrounds in the state park. I don't know what the camping fee's are.

Type of trip:
I paddled back to the car but you could probably find a pick point from either direction. If you do find anymore public accessible areas please waymark them.

Other information:
If you go to the right when you get on the water there is an area the has a No dumping sign up on the shore and its unbelievable how much trash people dump.
