According to a Federal Register notice dated April 17, 2003 (visit link), McCormick Bridge is located at mile 747.5 at Jacksonville Beach. The draw shall open on signal; except that during April, May, October and November from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except Federal holidays, the draw need open only on the hour and half hour. During April, May, October and November from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Federal holidays, the draw need open only on the hour and half hour.
This drawbridge won't be around for too much longer. A new high rise bridge spanning the Intracoastal waterway is under construction on Beach Blvd to replace the current drawbridge. It will be
replaced with two fixed, high-level, three-lane bridges.
