The memorial consists of a beautiful black monument with a map of Korea on the back side and, on the front side, a picture of a soldier with his hand on a helmet placed on the but of a rifle that is stuck in the ground as a grave marker of a fallen comrade. The monument reads, "Dedicated to the men and women of Berrien County who served their country. Korea - the forgotten war - 25 June '50 - 27 July '53. US casualties KIA - 54,246, wounded - 103,284, MIA/POW - 8,177."
The pathway leading to the monument is made of bricks many of which have various pictures and words from the war.
