In 1983, Las Vegas, NM, was chosen to be the scene of the fictional town of Calumet, Colorado, the setting of one of the invasion points of WWIII.

For the filming, a mural was painted on the side of a building welcoming visitors to "Calumet". The town has kept and maintained the mural so it can still be seen today.
