The Miami Woman's Club was founded in 1900, four years after the City of Miami was incorporated as the Married Ladies' Afternoon Club. They are credited with the founding of the Public Library System of Miami-Dade County.

The Miami Woman's Club was founded in 1900, four years after the City of Miami was incorporated as the Married Ladies' Afternoon Club. Henry M. Flagler was the club's benefactor.The Miami Woman's Club is credited with the founding of the Public Library System of Miami-Dade County. This Spanish Renaissance structure was dedicated as "The The Miami Woman's Club and Flagler Memorial Library" in 1926 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
