We were making our way around Saginaw when we happened upon the Japanese Cultural Center and Tea House. We were surpised to find this wonderful garden. Turns out Saginaw's sister city is Tokushima, Japan. How cool. Unfortunately, it was closed, however there was a crew working on the roof of the Tea House.
Finding an errant roofing hammer, I walked to the tea house and yelled up "Hey you guys missing a hammer?" I got to walk around some after that, and that was how we came to find this Peace Pole!
This garden and peace pole kind of caught us off guard, in all the excitement, I forgot to photograph all four sides. I did however manage to get a shot of its dedication plaque.
