The mural is located in the courtyard of the Newman Elementary School, and shows a plethora of activities done by and subjects learned by children. There are several panels, each with a different scene. There are smaller pieces that are mounted in front of the larger panels to give a 3-D effect to the art. All sorts of things are shown. Perhaps visitors could provide a description the favorite part of this piece.
The artists are the students. David Fichter directed the piece. Teachers and parents assisted.
The Newman Elementary School is located off Central Avenue in Needham. Once you drive down the driveway, turn right, then immediately left to enter the circle in front of the school and the courtyard. The mural should be in view.
