Metamora is located along the route of the Whitewater Canal. The town prospered because of the canal, and later by the railroad that took over the route. The IOOF building also housed the Knights of Pithius and Masonic lodges at one time. You can see the letters for both the K of P and IOOF on the top of the building. Also see the sign in the gallery. The ground floor now houses a store. The whole town retains the flavor of the era and has a number of gift and craft shops located here. Makes for a nice day trip from Cincinnati or Indianapolis. See my other waymarks and geocache log.
