A large park with the usual park facilities but with one thing that distinguishes it from all other parks that I have visited. It contains a Safety City.

Safety City located inside Clapp Park, is a unique kid-sized town where public school students learn, hands-on, the rules of
pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety. Lubbock I.S.D prepares the curriculum and maintains the scheduling of all L.I.S.D second and fourth grade classes who attend this safety course. Kids can also come out and skate or ride their bikes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the summer months. Walkers are also welcome from 8 to 9AM Monday-Friday.
