The recently restored exterior of Buffalo City Hall allowed the observation deck to be reopened to the public in the spring of 2007. Being the third tallest building in the city, it provides some excellent views of the city, Lake Erie, and the Niagara River. On clear days, the mist from Niagara Falls can be seen.
To get to the observation deck, take one of the elevators to the top floor. From there, you will need to take stairs up three more flights to the 28th floor. Be sure to stop on the 13th floor on the way up and check out the beautiful council chamber which features a stained glass skylight. Also every weekday at noon, free tours of the building are offered.
