The Wauponsee Glacial Trail follows the railbeds of the former Waubash Railroad and Milwaukee Road railroads.

The trail surface varies along the trail. The northern portion from this trailhead is paved and is good for walking, biking, and even inline stakes.

If you go south from this trailhead, limestone screenings makes it appropriate for equestrian use along with the traditional hiking and biking.

Cross-country skiing is appropriate in season for both segments, but snowmobiling is prohibited, as well as any motorized vehicle such as ATV's.
