Long Description:
Named for Henery Thompson, a Scottish immigrant and Skagit County
Commissioner who lobbied for its construction. This graceful arch
crossing the Baker River was once the longest single-span concrete
bridge in the world. It carried Highway 20 through the town of
Concrete, Washington. Despite considerable research, I can find no
information as to it's length or height above the river, surprising
considering its former claim to fame.
