Empyrian Brewing serves at their owned restaurants: Lazlos and Fireworks. Both are at the coordinates because they are adjoining. There is also a Lazlo's south in Lincoln. In addition, they sell their brews bottled in Nebraska stores.

Empyrian has an interesting style. They have some standards and then usually two whims, one of which is the winner of customer tasting competitions of brews made by local home brewers. These are often the best beer.

Of the standards on tap, the honey gold is a refreshing light ale with a nice cascade hop finish. The Scottish Ale is quite good if you like a maltier brew. Friends of mine rave abut the brown ale, although I tend to not care for standard brown ales. The vanilla porter is quite good. I tend to not drink that dark, but it is good stuff. I lack ability to rank the stout, which uses a different carbonation technique and I don't normally care for stout. I lament that they do not carry a pale ale on the standard menu.

The whims are often the best. When they have run pale ale whims from local home brewer tasting winners, they have been outstanding! They also did a Krolsch once that was the best of that style that I have had. Recent wheats have also been good.

The menu at Lazlos is pretty standard pub fare, plus a nice selection of standard Nebraska corn fed steaks, prime rib and fresh fish specials. At fireworks, food is grilled over a live fire and the menu is more unique. They have wood fired pizza (quite good, very thin crust style), various roasted meats, and quality steaks, but with a focus on sauces, so if you want a more plain steak, go to Lazlos. Fireworks has great cheese and macaroni, perfectly steamed broccoli, and good corn bread as well.

Beer prices are average. Food is a bit high at times for the immediate area, but not at all high for the region.

If you want a cozy bar experience, pick Fireworks. They have comfy couches and chairs in a fireplace pit that are great if you can get them. Plus the bar as a whole is much nicer than Lazlos, unless you go to Lazlos south, which has a nicer bar than the downtown location.

Empyrian also sells bottled versions that don't taste as good as they could for me and I don't recommend them over other bottled micro-brews. So go there in person and skip the bottled stuff.

The location also offers brewery tours.

Fireworks is not open for lunch (something else I lament). Lazlos is.
