Khufu or Cheop's Great Pyramid is 756 feet (241 meters) square in plan, and 481 feet (153 meters) high. The angle of inclination of the triangular faces is about 51.5 degrees. The square of its height equals the area of each triangular face, as determined by Herodotus in 450 B. C. The base of the pyramid covers about 13 acres.
Of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Khufu's Pyramid is the first, and only survivor.
At one time, people were allowed to climb the pyramid and there was even races to the top. This is no longer allowed in order to preserve the deteriorating surface.
A few metres from the south side of the pyramid is the Solar Boat Museum which contains Khufu's solar boat which was discovered May 26, 1954.
In 1987, it was discovered that here is one more boat hidden in a pit on the west side of the pyramid but it has been decided to leave it there for now where it is being perfectly preserved.
Location of Pyramid: Giza, Egypt.
Approximate Date of Construction: approximately 2560 B.C.
