Northeast of Anamosa, Iowa, this barn was originally built in 1903 out of yellow pine and fastened together without the use of nails.
After nearly 90 years of continuous farm use, the owners determined the old barn did not suit their purposes anymore, but they did not want the old structure to go to waste.
After a little searching, the Bourbonnais Township Park District came forward as an interested party for the old barn.
Carefully, the barn was dismantled in Iowa and rebuilt (and slightly remodeled for public use) at its current location at the
Whispering Willows Park.
