This monument stands in a cemetery in Kingston,Ga. It was erected by the Ladies Memorial Association of Kingston in 1874. The memorial was repaired in 1937. It overlooks the graves of 250 unknown Confederate dead and 2 unknown Union soldiers buried in this section of the cemetery. More Union troops were buried here originally but those graves were opened and transferred to the National Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia after the war.
