This national monument is here to commemorate the Mormon fort, Windsor Castle, that was built here to help fight off Indian attacks. A spring was underneath the fort, so it was well supplied. This fort never came under attack.
The visitors center has a bookstore (with a NPS cancellation station), and several interpretive displays on the Mormon history and the local Kaibab band of Paiute Indians.
The entrance fee was about $5 per person.
