The location, along False Creek and not far from Granville Island, puts a green frame around the sweeping view of downtown Vancouver, from one end of False Creek to the other.

This view was 'discovered' by me as I walked along False Creek on my one day journey through the heart of Vancouver on my way to Seattle. Charleson Park is a lovely park with a mixture of open grass fields, athletic and play areas and trees, next to open water. Around the park there are several nice views of downtown Vancouver. My favorite is looking west toward the ocean, where several bridges cross the inlet.

Since I came by foot, I don't know the best way in by car. By foot, there is a walkway along False Creek from either Granville Island or Science World - though, at the time, this path was temporarily relocated due to construction.

There is a little walking involved, but most of it is flat. Perhaps a picnic at this location would be appropriate.

For a visit, a photo would be nice but not required. A scanned drawing or painting would be interesting. A note relating what you did there is also good.
