Marconi’s role in the development of today’s network of global communication. In 1902 the first official wireless message was sent from this site across the Atlantic Ocean to Cornwall, in England.
The Marconi National Historic Site building is open from 1 Jun to 15 Sep. Admission is free. The grounds are open and accessible year-round, dependent on weather. The site, called the Table Head, is located on 5 acres of spectacular and rugged eastern coastline of Cape Breton jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean
