Vernon County's spectacular courthouse, designed by Robert G. Kirsch, was built at a cost of $80,000 in 1906-1908. It stands in a courthouse square. The red-roofed building is symmetrical with four corner towers, four gables and a central clock tower which rises 126 feet.
