This benchmark is located at the northeast corner of the Crook County Courthouse in Prineville, Oregon. The cap is set vertically about 3.5 feet above ground and 3.4 feet from northeast building corner behind shrubs. The benchmark was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1908 and was marked 2871.914 B B R2. Based on 1934 decription below, it appears that at some later time CCCH2 has been added to cap markings.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 IN PRINEVILLE. AT PRINEVILLE, CROOK COUNTY, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EAST THIRD STREET, 3.4 FEET FROM THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND IN THE FACE OF THE NORTH WALL, 3 1/2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AND SET VERTICALLY.
