This beautiful mansion on the border of the North Slope Historic District was built in 1905 for William Ross Rust, President of the Tacoma Smelter and Refining Co. The building features Wilkeson sandstone (a prized local stone with a pink tone), a glazed green terra cotta tile roof, 18 rooms, 4 baths, 8 fireplaces, and a French Empire interior.
It is a Classical Revival style building designed by Ambrose J. Russell of Russell & Babcock Architects.
The structure is listed as city of Tacoma Landmark as well as being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
