Big old anchor in a small waterfront park in Nanaimo

This anchor came from a large coal hauling ship, thought to be the SS Northland. It would have been built in the 1850s-1860s, but no date is given for when it was wrecked. The anchor was placed here in 1985. No explanation is given for the broken arm on the anchor.
