The ARGO Dam was built for a flour mill in the early 1820's.

It was rebuilt in 1913 for Hydropower for Detroit Edison. It was decomissioned in 1959.

"Argo Dam is on the Huron River in Washtenaw County, Michigan. Construction was completed in 1920. It has a normal surface area of 92 acres. It is owned by the City Of Ann Arbor.



Argo Dam is a gravity dam, of earthen construction. Its height is 18 feet with a length of 1888 feet. Maximum discharge is 17930 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1200 acre feet. Normal storage is 929 acre feet. It drains an area of 735 square miles"
