North base; 1861 TO 1865 (IN RAISED LETERS)
West face;
R.P. CARPENTER POST NO. 41
South face;
TO THE MEMORY OF OUR NOBLE DEAD WHO FREELY GAVE THEIR LIVES THAT OUR COUNTRYS FLAG MIGHT BE MAINTAINED UNSULLIED.
