Packwaukee is Unincorporated. The "village" of Packwaukee sits on the shore of Buffalo Lake. The Fox River and Buffalo Lake flow from the west to east across Packwaukee Township. This area was once an Indian Village and a heavily travelled trading post. The railroad and barges use to run thru this area too. Believed to be named after Chief Packwaukee. Buffalo Lake gets its name for the legend that the last known buffalo was chased into this lake by the incoming white man and drown. Now this area is a true "Sportsmans Paradise". Hunting and Fishing are a lifestyle here. Welcome to Packwaukee, you may not want to leave.
