This 24 Pounder Howitzer Cannon was used at the Battle of Chickamauga on September 19-20, 1863 in Chickamauga Georgia. It was part of Battery M, 4th U.S. Artillery which consisted of 6 cannons total. The 24 Pound Howitzer was the largest piece of artillery used at this battle. This battle was the last major Confederate victory of the US Civil war.
