These coordinates serve as the entrance point to Griffis Sculpture Park and the doorway to the many different abstract sculptures located within (see photos for a sampling of the sculptures you will discover along your journey). Within this park there are also many sculptures in addition to abstract works of art.
Since its inception in 1966, the Ashford Hollow Foundation has operated Griffis Sculpture Park. The park is open to the public and provides tens of thousands of people the opportunity to commune with art and nature.
The park features a variety of natural habitats including forests, ponds, wetlands, and alpine meadows. Within these settings are displayed more than 200 sculptures by local, national, and international artists. Unlike traditional art galleries, where contact with the artwork is prohibited, the art at Griffis Sculpture Park is meant to be interacted with. Here you are encouraged to touch, climb on many of the pieces. It is this interaction, combined with an outstanding sculptural art collection and pristine natural environment that makes the park a unique cultural resource.
The park hosts a variety of special events throughout the season from private weddings, wine tasting tours, and concerts, to educational opportunities through workshops, seminars, arts-in-education, and outreach programs.
The Park is open daily, May 1 - October 31, from dawn to dusk. Check this site often for a schedule of events at the park. If you would like to schedule a private tour, reserve a cabin, or speak to someone about scheduling an event, please call the Administrative Office at (716) 667-2808 or email griffispark@aol.com.
