St. James's - My Lady's Manor

Established 1750 as a chapel of ease in the parish of St. John's of Joppa. In 1755 a brick chapel 60 by 30 feet, now the Transept, was finished on this site "in the fork of the Gunpowder River" at a cost of 790 pounds. In 1970 by act of The Maryland Assembly the separate parish of St. James's completed two centuries of continuous service.
