This shelter has one sign in good condition, with it's capacity numbers missing. I contacted the journal, and got this reply from Bob White and Christopher Bearup Facilities Manager.....
I believe the capacity of the building was 720, as listed on the main
sign. There are one or two surviving interior signs. All survival supplies
were removed many years ago. Additionally, the emergency lighting that was
originally installed for the fallout shelter was removed approximately 15
years ago. My understanding of the Journal's role during such an event was
two-fold. Our primary function was survivability due to the reinforced
construction of the building and there was also emphasis on protecting the
ability of media to inform the public during an emergency situation.
I will add more info on this shelter when it becomes available.
Capacity of shelter: 720

Radiation monitoring equipment: Not Listed
